GOBLN Meeting, which will be hosted by Universal Studios.  The meeting will be from 9:30 to 11:00 am.

Jeannie Amendola will be our guest speaker sharing the story about the inclusive workplace at Walt Disney World Resort, where dreams to achieve and succeed come true – how they make it work – and how you can too! 

Walt Disney World Resort is one of North America’s leading disability inclusive employers.  Hard work, determination and a bit of pixie dust help to create a magical place for all Cast Members to work.

Jeannie will share her experiences and the rewarding journey she is taking at Walt Disney World to inspire and motivate employers and employees to support  persons with disabilities achieve their career goals.

Please try to get to the lot as early as possible as it may take some time to find a parking spot.  It’s a good idea to wear comfortable shoes, as the walk to the entrance is about 5-6 minutes.

There are multiple entrances for the Universal Orlando Resort, so below we have listed some specifics re: what entrance & building we will be in.

 

The HR Applicant Lobby can be found in the “Universal Orlando Administration Services” entrance, this entrance can be found off of Turkey Lake Road.

 

After turning into the “Universal Orlando Administration Services” entrance, stay in the left hand lane.

 

Turn left at the stop sign & proceed to follow the “Applicant Parking” signs.

 

We will be in the one story building that stands in front of the "Applicant Parking” area with the large blue letters labeled "Human Resources", not the tall 3 story Administration Building (that building is about a 15 minute walk across a large parking lot).

We invite you to park in the area labeled, "Applicant Parking".

 

From 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM you may check in at the “HR Applicant Lobby” with a Security Officer. If you arrive earlier or later, someone from our training team will be there to greet you.

 

Once you enter the building, you will be checked in by the Security Guard & asked to comply with a bag check.

 

You will be asked to present a photo ID to the Security Guard.

 

Please proceed to check in with the Receptionist & you will be escorted to your meeting.

Central Florida Disability Chamber of Commerce hosts the

Greater Orlando Business Leadership Network Meeting 

 

Orlando, FL - August 12, 2011 -

 

The Central Florida Disability Chamber at The National Entrepreneur Center was honored to host the Greater Orlando Business Leadership Network (GOBLN). The meeting started with introductions from Jerry Ross (Executive Director-NEC) and Rogue Gallart (President-CFDC) regarding entrepreneurship initiatives in Central Florida.

The guest speaker was Kay Wolf with Ford & Harrison, who discussed "Current ADA Trends in Law".

Kay Wolf, Board-certified by the Florida Bar as a Specialist in labor

and employment law, has practiced in the area since 1976. Her

practice is devoted to providing management with the necessary

tools to meet the challenges in today's employment arena, through

proactive legal advice, training, and litigating complex cases in both

trial and appellate courts. Kay is a certified mediator in Florida's

circuit courts and in the U.S. Middle District of Florida. She also

serves as an arbitrator.


 The GOBLN is a chapter of the US Business Leadership Network (USBLN) which is the national disability organization that serves as the collective voice of over 60 Business Leadership Network affiliates across North America, representing over 5,000 employers. The GOBLN helps build workplaces, marketplaces, and supply chains where people with disabilities are respected for their talents, while supporting the development and expansion of its USBLN affiliate. The GOBLN recognizes and supports best practices in the employment and advancement of people with disabilities; the preparedness for work of youth and students with disabilities; marketing to consumers with disabilities, Entrepreneurs with disabilities; and contracting with vendors with disabilities through the development and certification of disability-owned businesses. 

 

Recently Rogue Gallart, President of the CFDC was appointed to the Greater Orlando Business Leadership Network Board of Directors. Also serving on the board are Jeannie Amendola (Walt Disney World), Jennifer Yaw (Walgreens), Lisa Hancock (Manpower) and Doreen Soto (Cole Engineering Services, Inc.)

The mission of the Central Florida Disability Chamber is to provide information and education on business creation and growth, specifically designed for the needs of people with disabilities. The Central Florida Disability Chamber staff is certified through the Florida Department of Education/Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DOE/DVR) as Certified Business Technical Assistance and Consultation Providers (CBTAC). The Central Florida Disability Chamber provides services to the entire State of Florida.

  

Our role at the Central Florida Disabilities Chamber:
Support entrepreneurs through all stages of business development, including:

  • Identifying potential business concepts
  • Conducting market research and assessing feasibility studies
  • Developing necessary business financials
  • Analyzing SSA benefits
  • Determining potential funding sources
  • Writing business plans
  • Youth Entrepreneurship Program
